The Need-to-Knows

- Yes, this is croc country. And no, they don’t make bookings with us either. Therefore, everything you do by and in the water is completely AT YOUR OWN RISK. We do NOT advocate swimming and will never claim it is safe to do so.

- There are no marked out campsites. Get here, check-in, and go find a spot you like. No need to make a booking. Make your own peace with your neighbours.

- Our tap water is straight out of the bore and can often have a red-earth colouring due to the iron-rich grounds. It hasn’t killed our kids yet, but we do suggest you boil before consuming to appease the belly bugs. You can fill up with treated water as you come through Kalumburu or purchase from the kiosk.

- If you bring it in you must take it out. We do not have the means to collect your rubbish, and contrary to what seems to be popular belief, aluminium and tins, cans and glassware do NOT burn away in a fire. Please take ALL your rubbish with you as you leave. This also goes for anything used for anchoring your boats.

- Our beach has been washed away and you can no longer launch your boat from our front camping area. Boat launch is only from Tamarind Beach, then drive around the point westward and back into our bay. Maybe take the opportunity to drop your first line in on the way.

- Noise curfew 8pm to 8am. This applies to genny’s, parties, and general disruption.

- Alcohol is permitted. Alcohol is not sold. Get what you need in Kununurra/Derby/Broome, keep it packed away as you come through Kalumburu, crack your hard-earned coldie during camp setup.

- Kalumburu vehicle permits can be purchased at the Uraro store in Kalumburu. ALT permits can be sought after here https://www.dplh.wa.gov.au/entrypermits. Neither of these can be purchased at Drysdale Station.
